CTA Membership Information

Business Membership

At the CTA we recognize that the cannabis industry is made up of many responsible businesses. These include medical cannabis producers, distributors and patient advocacy organizations, retail store specializing in cannabis and hemp related items as well as affiliated entities such as equipment suppliers, electricians, plumbers, heating and cooling specialists, security consultants, health care practitioners, lawyers, accountants and many, many more.

A CTA membership for your business provides you with access to the full range of CTA services and allows you to connect with other CTA members.

General Membership

Not everyone involved in the cannabis industry is affiliated with an existing business. For these people, a general membership to the CTA may be more suitable. A general membership allows you to support the work of the CTA and to access its networking opportunities.

Designated Producer Membership

A designated producer is an individual licensed by Health Canada to produce and provide cannabis for medicinal purposes. Because of the unique regulatory scheme governing the conduct of these producers, the CTA has a special membership option available. A CTA designated producer is entitled to access CTA training courses and to network with affiliated businesses such as security companies, electricians, plumbers and building inspectors.

In addition, the CTA is dedicated to working with Health Canada to reform the current regulations in order to provide increased patient options, safety and quality certification, production standards and an overall licensing scheme that best serves all stakeholders.

Personal Producer Membership

A personal producer is an individual licensed by Health Canada to produce cannabis for his or her own medicinal purposes. Personal producers face issues that may not be shared by designated producers and the CTA recognizes that some may deal with significant financial hardship. A CTA personal producer is entitled to access CTA training courses and to network with affiliated businesses such as security companies, electricians, plumbers and building inspectors.

In addition, the CTA is dedicate to working with Health Canada to reform the current regulations in order to provide increased patient options and to implement a regulatory scheme that recognizes the special challenges faced by those who choose to produce their own medicinal cannabis and cannabis products.
